We had Sena Richards from Sena Sea doing a cooking demonstration on preparing Roasted Garlic Black Cod, Summer Salad, and Dijon Green Beans. They bring Copper River Salmon, Smoked Salmon, and Black Cod to market each Saturday.

Joseph Downs from The Lavender Boutique brought his portable still and made batches of lavender oil and hydrosol extraction. He also be explained his different products from essential oil to culinary goodness. They have a wide assortment of lavender blends for savory and sweet culinary applications such as spice rubs, lavender salt, dip mixes, and flavorings for lemonade, ice cream and baking. Very fun, and innovative ways of using such a wonderful smelling product! The market was filled with the smell of distilling lavender all morning!

For National Farmers Market Week we were blessed to have a busy market full of demonstrations. Mike McGregor from McGregor Bees and Pollination gave demonstrations on everything honey, and what he goes through before we can enjoy his final product.

With all these great activities at the 2016 National Farmers Market Celebration you won’t want to miss next year’s event! Check back in our Events page to stay up to date on everything happening down at the market.

The Wenatchee Valley Farmers Market had music in the air this Saturday. We had Jim Castaneda, the sole member of “A Modern One Man Band” with his own style of looped music. Layers of vocals, music, and beets that he records and loops live made for an interesting and entertaining musical experience. You can check out his music here if you missed it Saturday.
